Oilcloth heaven...

I've always had a bit of a thing for Mexican oil cloth, so when Messy Essy came through my door...well needless to say, I was in oilcloth heaven.
Oilcloth is durable and really easy to care for, will take the toughest treatment and still look good day after day - just don't throw it in the washing machine!

I have bibs, kids aprons, splat mats and travel chalkboards in stock now.
Travel chalk mat includes chalk and erasing cloth $21.95 each
Velcro fastening bib with crumb catcher $12 each - assorted designs and colours available - these are my favorites

Suitable for weddings, parties or even just to add a little touch of class to mealtimes, $19.95
This little guy looks like he is ready for an elegant evening...

Retro revival...

Just thought I'd share a picture of the My Poppet stall at Magnolia Square. I papered the walls with some vintage wallpaper to give the stall a bit of a retro feel, add a cow hide rug and a retro walnut veneer coffee table and you'd swear you'd stepped back to the seventies!

I've just managed to recover and get the shop back in order! So much new stock in store at the moment I'm struggling to find a place for it all. I'll post some pictures in the coming days...
Have just updated Poppet in the Post, all stock levels are current as of today so feel free to search the archives as some of the items are still available (unless otherwise indicated)

Shop 4 Kids...Yay!

Super excited to see the new Spring/Summer edition of Shop4Kids Magazine. If you haven't already noticed My Poppet got a nice little mention...was even more pleased when I saw that my Souvenir tea towel dress was featured so prominently in a photo spread.
It was sold a few weeks ago, but I have just made a few more to take to Magnolia Square. If you're quick you might just get lucky!

I will be taking a mini version of My Poppet to Magnolia Square next week, showcasing new stock from some of the independent labels you have all grown to love.
Featuring -
Wall art from Look at the wall
Spring range from Cherry stew and Ally J
Spring/summer Paul and Paula
Nanoou summer range
Lots of one off garments and toys by My Poppet, Cinti does Vintage, One red Robin, Partridge and Pear and lots more...

Now, just need to work out how it will all fit into a teeny tiny 2x2m space, suggestions welcomed.
My mum will be looking after the shop and I'll be at the Malvern town Hall, so if you're in Melbourne then, drop by and say 'Hi'. Mum get excited when she sells something in the shop, so make her day, and drop in to the shop as well. After all, it's just down the road!

Credit card facilities will be available

Busy...

This past weekend was just a blur...spent most of my time at several of the trade fairs that were on in Melbourne...talk about sensory overload! The massive hangover from my sister's hen's night didn't help...
Breaking in the wedding shoes today, ouchy!
As a special treat to myself yesterday morning, I popped into one of my favorite op-shops and did not go home unrewarded. As well as some great fabric, a couple of dresses and lots of buttons and bias binding, I found this beautiful coral coloured leaf shaped plate. Perfect for displaying hair accessories (which I always find difficult to display well)

What do you think of my cake stand turned headband display?

So much to do...

Feeling a little bit unmotivated today, especially when i think about the millions of things on my 'to do' list - it all gets a little bit overwhelming.
I made this little guy a few months ago when I was obviously in much more of a productive mood, he also has a friend which is waiting for his head to be attached. Poor little guy, at the rate I'm going, it may never happen...

I have become a little bit attached to my friend here so he is not for sale, he sits on my bedside table and keeps me company.
