Half way there...

Eighteen and a half weeks today, which makes me almost half way there. Doesn't time fly?
I picked up this little vintage counting frame at a local oppy and couldn't resist starting a little toy collection for the baby. In the mean time, i can use it to count down the days till s/he arrives.
Have been trying to update Poppet in the Post to give you guys something new to look at but the day has just gotten away from me, I'll try to upload some new stuff by tomorrow, promise.
Oh! and i must apologise for the very late 'market wisdom' post. In the pipe line...

Online Magazines...

Wow, these online kids magazines are just getting better and better with every issue.

LMNOP magazine issue 5 is out now. it's free to subscribe and really worth a look if you haven't seen it already. Look how fantastic the small melamine cups look in this feature stuffed to the brim with Christmas treats.

I finally had a chance to have a good look at the current issue of Small magazine, and what do you know, a few friends of My Poppet got little mentions.
Can you spot Jhoanna's Woodland girl doll? And Monique's Look at the Wall collage? I have a few Look at the Wall collages currently in stock at the store, this owl is my favorite.
I love all this fabric play food. Very inspiring, now if only I had a spare hour or ten...

Freaky cold!

What's with this freaky cold weather. I know we need the rain, but all in one day?

Not very conducive to the sale of summer clothing, that's for sure. I'll be surprised if i have many customers today. Days like this give me a chance to do boring things like bookkeeping (which I've been putting off for ages). I might change the window (although I'm not feeling very creative at the moment) and update Poppet in the Post with some new products.
Have finally finished unpacking a shipment from Denmark of lovely organic cotton garments by Nanoou. Some top up summer stock, but mostly winter stock for next year. I've got to order this far in advance as our seasons are totally opposite (does my head in!)
The winter stock is looking quite attractive at the moment in these odd climactic conditions. I couldn't resist listing a few long sleeve rompers on Poppet in the Post as they are the perfect PJ's on cool summer nights. I'll save the velour for later, although if this weather keeps up, it might all be gone by then!

A big box of super cool robot and monster melamine plates, cups and bowls just arrived today ($9.95 each). They really brighten up the place. I love how they mix and match with the small cups. I'll have them for sale online shortly now...

Scatter-Brain !

My brain is turning to mush! All of those people that say baby brain is a myth are LIARS!!!
So far i have forgotten several appointments (including one very important doctors one) and other day to day commitments, that other people seem to know about except me. It's really starting to get annoying, and I've got a while to go yet.
Spent yesterday making very thorough lists, now just need to remember to read my lists...
Apparently elephants never forget, I have surrounded myself by some in hopes that their good memory will rub off on me...

Elephant cushion by Vintage Modern $65, Elephant hair clips/ties $11 for set of 2

Parcel mania!

Wow the week has just flown by, I've been so busy packing Poppet in the Post orders and waddling off to the post office. (Don't know why I'm waddling, I'm hardly even showing!)
Why so many online orders you ask? Well its because of this sweet little article in the Sunday Life magazine this past weekend...

So I'm doing my best to keep Poppet in the Post up to date and well stocked, lots of new products listed every day. Quite a big job really, this online shop business is hard work!

Melamine cups are back in stock, lots of colours available
Market wisdom Part 2 coming next week
How cute are these Sheriff badges?

New stock & shop updates...

Thanks for all of your warm wishes re: the last post. Not going to bore you with baby talk (most of you have been there and done that). So I thought you might like to see some pretty pictures of new stock...I love these new vintage button brooches that arrived in a parcel yesterday from Stacey of Sheep's Clothing fame. Don't they look lovely on my little dresses. They're only $7.95 each, I've listed them on Poppet in the Post along with lots of other new and fantastic bits...
Also back in stock are Blue Picnic sets $36.95 (play food not included) and Red tea Sets $38.95 includes suitcase.
These are not available online as postage will vary from state to state. If you are interested in these, contact me with your postcode for a postage quote.
Have a great weekend...

The worst kept secret...

Look what I made! Can't take all the credit, Mr Cinti played a role as well. Must have been the worst kept secret ever, I really have the biggest blabber mouth. Will never be offered a job with ASIO, that's for sure...
Due on ANZAC day (25th April), have sort of un-officially nicknamed him/her 'digger'. My 20 week scan is not far away so I'll know if it's a him or her soon.
Suppose I'll be needing some help around the shop, more info on that soon.

If you already knew my secret, try to act surprised anyway...xx Miss Cinti + one...

Break and Enter, no. 2

So, was looking forward to my day off on Saturday, had it all sorted. Me at the races, mum in the shop. But wouldn't you know it, some idiot thought it was a good idea to smash my front door window. It's becoming and annual event, and almost identical to the last time.
Luckily they didn't get in, but I'm still finding bits of glass in strange places!
Mum handled the situation very well, sorting out the police statement and organising a glazier.
Managing to clean up and serve customers as well. Thanks Mum, what would I do without you?
I still had a good day at the races...not much luck on the horses though, but that's another story...

Stay tuned for some more exciting news to be announced tomorrow..
